‘Fight like a Girl’

There's something unique about boxing, a discipline that not only tests physical ability but also something special about the characters who excel at the sport. My journey with Redcar Boxing Club began a few years ago when I stumbled upon it as a location. The raw and honest environment immediately captured my heart, leading me to become a part of it as a trainee. Knowing Niki Wiley, the Head Coach, since our school days, witnessing his unwavering commitment to the individuals training at the club was truly moving.

Redcar Boxing Club isn't just a place for exercising; it's a community with fascinating stories of how each member found their way there, becoming dedicated to the rigorous training. The club has seen remarkable success, with young talents representing both county and country, a testament to the dedication nurtured within its walls.

Recently, I had the privilege of documenting the thriving girls' section at the club, thanks to an invitation from Sunday Girl Magazine. It was not only an opportunity to showcase the talent but also a chance to shine a light on Niki and the entire club for their inspiring efforts, often overlooked and unrewarded.

Here's to the spirit of Redcar Boxing Club, where dedication meets success, and where every story, every punch, and every triumph adds to the rich tapestry of our incredible local community.
